Delete your Closish account

This page explains how to delete your Closish account and the data tied to it. Closish is operated by Closish. You can delete your account yourself inside the app in a few seconds, or ask us to do it by email.

1. Open the Closish app.
2. Tap the account icon (top of the screen) to open your account.
3. Tap Delete account.
4. Confirm. Your account and all associated data are deleted immediately and permanently — there is no undo.

Email privacy@closish.com from the email address on your account, with the subject “Delete my account.”We’ll verify it’s you and delete your account within 30 days.

Deleting your account permanently removes everything tied to it from our live database:

• Your account and sign-in (email address)
• Your display name
• Your saved / bookmarked spots
• Your reviews
• Your city votes

You don’t need an account to browse Closish, so you can keep using the app signed out afterward.

• Encrypted backups. Routine database backups may still contain your data for up to 60 days after deletion, after which it ages out of backups too.
• Aggregate analytics. Anonymized, aggregate usage data (e.g. counts of taps and page views) may be retained and is not used to re-identify a deleted account.
• Legal records.We keep the minimum we’re legally required to keep.
